The smell of peppermint reminds me of candy canes and Christmas holiday. But now it brings to mind words like energy, focus, and uplifting to name of few. Why? Because about two years ago I started working more with essential oils. As a massage therapist it is something I started hearing alot about. I was also dealing with some of my own health issues after having a baby and undergoing emergency C-section. It brought with it nerve and tissue damage and with those things came a whole slew of other problems. So I was looking into many different holistic and natural remedies to help speed along my healing process. And I found Peppermint Oil and just love it. It can help with stress, depression, digestion, circulation, headaches, nasal and sinus congestion, and the list goes on and on. I personally use peppermint oil and use with my massage clients to help increase circulation in tight, tense muscles, to ease headaches, and to increase energy and focus especially in the afternoon slump hours. But that is only a few of the many, many uses of this great oil.
Always buy high quality organic peppermint oil. And you will need to dilute the peppermint oil with some type of carrier oil such as jojoba, sunflower, olive, etc. You only need a couple of drops and after diluted you can rub onto temples, pulse points, abdomen or any tight or tense muscles.
